Nancy Sell, Hartsburg, recently was named community development manager for the American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter.

The Lifesaver Award Celebration, Volunteer of the Year Recognition, and Annual Meeting of the American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter, will begin at 4 p.m., with awards presented at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the North Jefferson City Pavilion.   Cost is $15 per adult, $5 for children under 10.  Categories include:

Medical Lifesaver, sponsored by Center for Pain Management;

Military Lifesaver, sponsored by CenturyLink;

Good Samaritan Lifesaver, sponsored by Central Bank, Boone County Bank, and Jefferson Bank;

Youth Lifesaver, sponsored by Prison Brews and Brew House Coffee Shop; 

Public Safety Lifesaver, sponsored by JCMG Laser and Vein Center; and

Blood Services Lifesaver, sponsored by Joe Machens Dealerships.

At the Benefactor level of sponsorship is Ameren Missouri.

American Red Cross Capital Area Chapter officials introduced Dave Griffith as the chapter’s new executive director during a news conference Dec. 28.

“This opportunity is one that I feel like I have been preparing for over the 20 plus years of my volunteer life,” Griffith said at the news conference. “The impact that the American Red Cross has on the daily lives of the people is one that I take very seriously.
